Craniosacral Therapy or craniosacral work is a non-invasive, soothing form of bodywork that uses light touch to bring about a deep stillness to the client. It is through this stillness the body can reconnect and unwind patterns of tension, sometimes from old trauma, freeing the body and the heart.
Gentle, yet often profound, craniosacral work helps the client to ‘see clearly’.
Each session is unique. From a place of stillness comes clarity about which contacts or processes are needed for deep healing for the individual. Various contacts are made around the body including the sacrum (base of the spine) and the cranium (head). Sometimes the smallest changes can have the biggest effect. Teaching clients how to bring their body/mind/spirit back to balance is an important part of the session. Spiritual practices are often recommended such as a simple yoga pose, somatic breathing exercise, a meditation practice or just words of wisdom to enhance the healing process.
